Wednesday August 20, 2008 Venice, Italy to Fort Lauderdale, FL
We awoke at 6:30 am. Ship was maneuvering the channel back to Venice. After showering I went up on deck for a short while but it started sprinkling so we went down to breakfast shortly after 7 am. We ate with Rod, Christine, Susan and Rich. Grant came to the dining room with Robyn feeling a little better but not 100%. He said he put $140 in the tip box but then took $40 back since Davor never gave him what he ordered to drink! Funny! We checked the room again, watched CNN and then left the ship for our 9 am shuttle to the Venice (VCE) airport. Uneventful trip home - everything on time. Saw Dick and Charlie in the PHL airport. Arrived home about 10 pm and to bed about 11. GREAT TRIP and ADVENTURE.
Friday August 8, 2008 Richmond, VA
I got up early and went to Home Depot or supplies. Drove over to the house only to discover that I left the key at the hotel. Ugh! Went to OLOH to visit with Mom for the morning. Late morning she wanted to go to one of their Olympic activities (!) so I got her there and went to the house to work. Put down the new kitchen floor, painted, cleaned, and moved things from the porch to the shed. It is all looking so much better! Hopefully a quick sale. Back to OLOH to visit Mom after dinner. She was really tired. Stayed with her until bedtime. Went to Picadilly for dinner and then to the hotel to watch the Olympics in Beijing. To sleep exhausted after a very productive day.
Thursday, August 7, 2008 Ft Lauderdale - Richmond
Time for a new adventure. I got all packed up. Tim took me to the airport about noon for a 2 pm flight to Philadelphia. Everything was on time for a change! I claimed my luggage, got my rental car, and headed to Richmond via I-95. Arrived in Richmond in 4 hours, checked into the Marriott and went to bed to rest up for 3 days of working on my childhood home and visiting with Mom and Dad at Our Lady of Hope..
